Summary / Abstract (Note)Food safety is a high priority for whole of the world. Presently, we are struggling with various kinds of diseases. One kind of diseases is food borne disease which is increasing globally and the countries are trying to keep their people healthy. The WTO members beheld the important right to put constraints on trade for the security of human, animal and plant health. The SPS Agreement is also an initiative at global level where member countries apply SPS measures for the protection of human, animal and plant health. It also permits to a country standard which should be scientifically justifiable and that should be supported by a risk assessment. But the developing countries like India need to improve resources for SPS scientific standards for enforcement. However, it is difficult for Indian authorities to define main precipitate of the problem that foreign SPS measures are not consistent with national standards mainly based on SPS measures. India precisely requires taking a new practical approach towards the SPS administration and should focus on development of a detailed plan to manage its SPS challenges in effectual way on national as well as international grounds. newline
